Vanu was selected by Global Innovation Exchange, a joint initiative led by USAID – US Agency for International Development, Results for Development and others, as an innovation that plays an important technological role in helping communities affected by COVID-19. Vanu was selected for our ability to provide mobile coverage to off-grid communities that have extremely vulnerable populations; these communities have little to zero mobile connectivity and are not able to receive SMS or mobile communication from governments and local hospitals with medical advice or instructions on preventing spread of COVID-19 with regular hand-washing, sanitizing and social distancing, etc. Vanu will do everything in our power to use our unique technology to connect the unconnected and keep them informed of communications on the virus and ways to help stop the spread and curb the virus in affected areas.
